Mr. Slimak created the Slovakian Rough-haired Pointer by crossbreeding the German Wirehaired Pointer, Weimaraner, Bohemian Wirehaired Pointing Griffon, German Wirehaired Pointer, and the Pudelpointer.

The Slovakian Rough-haired Pointer has a noble appearance. The head of the Slovakian Rough-haired Pointer is rectangular shaped, the muzzle is straight and broad; the nose is large and dark in color. The eyes are almond-shaped and may change color from puppy to maturity. The eyes have an intelligent and gentle expression. The ears have a broad base, rounded ends, and set at eye level. The tale is set high, hangs downward at rest, and carried horizontally when on the move. The tail is commonly docked to half of the normal length.
